The health of our customers and associates is our top priority. We are closely monitoring COVID-19 and executing active measures to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all.
Like many others, we are taking our guidance on COVID-19 from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other public health and safety agencies.
We’ve enacted several steps to remain vigilant, including establishing an advisory team of experts in the field of sanitation and food safety. This group is regularly communicating with our stores and evaluating the impact of COVID-19 in every community where we operate. In addition, Highs has established several preventive measures, in accordance with CDC recommendations, for both our employees and customers.
As an immediate response, we have increased awareness around sanitary working conditions at our sites. This includes making sure that our sites are adequately stocked with soap, hand sanitizer, gloves and other sanitation essentials. We also have asked our associates to increase the frequency of their routine cleaning efforts; especially cleaning and sanitizing high touch surface areas including food and beverage areas, restrooms, countertops, door handles, gas pumps, touch-screen order points, cash registers, pin pads, credit machines and ATMs.
